How it all began....

After 12 years as a pastry chef, Jak decided to try her hand at private dining. Back then, customers really were getting a bargain, as Jak would not only come and make dinner at their houses, but she would also even stay for the clean up afterwards!

Reputation not Location

Jak then served what you might call her "apprenticeship" in a wee place in Glasgow's West End. By the end of 4 years, business was booming and she had already outgrown the site.  Needing to expand, she found a new location which was slightly further afield, but proved to be a hidden gem!

Reputation rather than location was definitely her focus then, and she quickly settled into her new home.

Jacqueline and her team have since developed two homely, welcoming, local eateries which utilise the best of Scotland's larder to give customers and friends a true taste of Scotland in the heart of Glasgow.

The Sisters at Kelvingrove was opened 11 years ago, and now occupies a prime location right at the edge of Finnieston. As well as offering fantastic pre-theatre and pre-concert dining, with the SECC and SSE Hydro just a stones throw away, it also offers a fantastic value lunch menu, and a mouth-watering and varied all day a la carte menu, which really shows off Scotland's wonderful produce.

The Kelvingrove restaurant is decorated in warm, subtle pink and grey tones, which complement the wonderful original artwork adorning the walls. Philip Raskin's famous 'skyscapes' occupy every wall of the restaurant, and serve as reminders of where m.such of the food is caught!

The Jordanhill restaurant is cosy and inviting, decorated with warm browns and tans and a little bit of tartan! It prides itself on offering wonderful family favourites with a smile. Perfectly situated just a stones throw from Jordanhill train station, it is an ideal place for a pre or post-rugby bite, as well as offering a wonderful lunch menu & Scottish classics.

So that's the story of how the Sisters restaurants began. They have now been operating for 17 years and still love every moment of it. It takes some determination and hard work but the buzz from a great night's service and a lot of happy customers makes it all worthwhile.
